Minutes of the Regularly Scheduled Council Meeting
July 25, 2005
City Hall Annex Building, 186 Branham Way
Mayor Sullivan called the meeting to order at 6:30pm with the following Council members present: Lloyd Dooley, Ralph Lutes, Joetta Calhoun, Ed Hilbert, Sid Griffin and Larry Porter.
Also present were City Clerk Christi Franklin and City Attorney Jim Winchell.
Larry Porter gave the invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Minutes
Christi Franklin read the minutes of the July 11, 2005 Council meeting. Ralph Lutes made a motion to accept the minutes of the July 11, 2005 meeting as written. Joetta Calhoun seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously by a roll call vote.
Treasurer’s Report
The Treasurer’s Report was postponed until the August 8th meeting.
Ordinances
The Council held second reading of an ordinance to adopt or reject the recommendation of the Bullitt County Joint Planning Commission to re-zone .635 acres, more or less, known as the David and Diane Kilner property located on the northwest intersection of Lloyd Lane and Fernwood Drive from R-1 to R-2. Joetta Calhoun made a motion to adopt the recommendation of the Bullitt County Joint Planning Commission to re-zone the Kilner property. Larry Porter seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously by a roll call vote.
The Council held second reading of an ordinance annexing 95.02 acres known as the John J. and Donna J. Miller property located on Stringer Lane. Sid Griffin made a motion to pass the ordinance annexing the Miller property. Lloyd Dooley seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously by a roll call vote.
The Council held second reading of an ordinance relating to sewer and water connection fees and impact fees. Ed Hilbert made a motion to pass the ordinance relating to sewer and water connection fees and impact fees. Larry Porter seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously by a roll call vote.
Resolution
The Council reviewed a resolution authorizing the sale of property in the Mt. Washington Business Centre (lots 12 and 13) and an option to purchase lots 14 and 15. Joetta Calhoun made a motion to pass the resolution authorizing the sale of property, the option to purchase property and authorizing Mayor Sullivan to sign all related documents. Sid Griffin seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously by a roll call vote.
Report from Council
Lloyd Dooley reported that three new garbage cans have been placed in the City. He also asked if the City will stripe the parking lot at the Senior Building and if the ditch work will be done at the Senior Building. Mayor Sullivan said the City will do its portion of the ditch work and the parking lot will be striped.
Joetta Calhoun asked if the City would contact Walgreens and ask them to erect speed bumps on the road that connects with Twelve Oaks. Mayor Sullivan said the City will ask them. She also asked about a hole on Flatlick. Mayor Sullivan will look at it. Ms. Calhoun asked if the ditch behind Mr. Phelps House was sprayed for mosquitoes. Mayor Sullivan said the City put pellets in the ditch.
Ed Hilbert reported tall grass on Evans Lane on the Buehler’s side of the burm, tall weeds by Bullitt Fire Sprinkler where the bed was removed and tall weeds across from Cyclone where the old mill was.
Sid Griffin discussed a leak on the Bleemel property on Snapp Street. Mayor Sullivan said the owner will repair the leak in a few days.

Sid Griffin made a motion to adjourn at 7:04pm. Joetta Calhoun seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously by a roll call vote.
