Minutes of the Regularly Scheduled Council Meeting
July 9, 2001
City Hall Annex Building, 186 Branham Way
6:30 p.m.



Mayor Ed Hilbert Called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. with the following members present:Barry Armstrong, Sam Beichler, Ralph Lutes, Frank Sullivan, and Brent Wheeler. Sid Griffin was absent.

The City Attorney, City Engineer, Utility Superintendent, and City Clerk were also present.

The invocation was given by Travis Collins.

Ralph Lutes made a motion to accept the minutes of the June 25th and June 27th 2001 meetings as read. Sam Beichler seconded the motion. Motion passed. (Unan.)

The first reading was conducted on Ordinance 01-10 proposing annexation for 4.0 acres known as the Thompson Cabinet Property owned by Mr. Jack H. McIntosh.

The second reading was conducted on Ordinance 01-11 on zoning amendment 2001Z-32 for Oakbrook Properties. The amendment is for 14.23 acres of the Woodlake Development to be amended from R-1 residential to R-2 residential. Barry Armstrong made a motion to adopt Ordinance 01-11. Ralph Lutes seconded the motion. Motion passed. (Unan.)

The first reading was conducted on Ordinance 01-12 relating to prohibiting the wearing of hoods and masks in public places.

Lucille Hays, of 148 Primrose Drive, addressed the Council in regard to a letter she received from the Mt. Washington Senior Citizens Association Inc. giving her notice that the storage room that has been used by the Over 50 Club will have to be vacated as the Mt. Washington Senior Citizens Association Inc. are in need of additional space. She asked for assistance from the Council. Discussion centered on the fact that the City leases the Building and did not think the City could intervene. The City attorney will look into the lease arrangement.

There being no further business before the Council, Brent Wheeler made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Frank Sullivan seconded the motion. Motion passed. (Unan.)

The meeting was adjourned at 7:42 p.m.
