Minutes of the Special Council Meeting

June 23, 2004

City Hall Annex Building, 186 Branham Way

 

Mayor Sullivan called the meeting to order at 10:00am with the following Council members present:  Lloyd Dooley, Sam Beichler, Sid Griffin, Larry Porter and Joetta Calhoun. 

 

Also present were City Clerk Christi Franklin, City Treasurer Peggy Brinkman, Utility Superintendent Ronnie Fick and City Attorney Rodney Burress.  Rodney Burress left at 11:25am.  Sergeant Rodney Hockenbury arrived at 10:48am and left at 10:55am.

 

Christi Franklin discussed the changes made to the City budget as directed by the Council at the June 14th meeting.  She also discussed the addition of $200,000 to the land sale revenue line item and the reduction to the bond draw line item.  Discussion followed regarding the funding for the business park and the Chevy Tahoe requested by the Police Department in lieu of a Chevy Impala.  Larry Porter introduced and the Council held first reading of an ordinance adopting the City of Mt. Washington annual budget for the fiscal year July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2005.

 

Sam Beichler introduced and the Council held first reading of an ordinance amending the building permit requirement for the City of Mt. Washington relating to temporary buildings.  Discussion followed.

 

The Ordinance Review Committee discussed the following ordinances:

 

Sid Griffin made a motion to adjourn at 11:55am.  Larry Porter seconded the motion.  Motion passed unanimously by a roll call vote.
