Minutes of the Special Council Meeting

May 3, 2006

City Hall Annex Building, 186 Branham Way

Mayor Sullivan called the meeting to order at 12:30pm with the following Council members present:  Joetta Calhoun, Lloyd Dooley, Sid Griffin, Ed Hilbert, Ralph Lutes and Larry Porter. 

Also present were City Clerk Christi Franklin, City Treasurer Peggy Brinkman, Utility Superintendent Ronnie Fick, Police Chief Rodney Hockenbury, Treatment Plant Superintendent Barry Gentry and City Attorney Jim Winchell. 

The Council reviewed the changes made as directed at the April 26^th meeting to the City proposed budget and Christi Franklin discussed further proposed changes.  Discussion followed.  The Council also discussed the compensation comparison prepared by Ms. Franklin.

The Council discussed the proposed draft of the water and sewer annual budget for the 2006/2007 fiscal year.  Each budget line item and all proposed capital expenditures were reviewed in depth.

Christi Franklin will make the changes directed by the Council. Another budget meeting was set for Thursday, May 18^th at 9:00am at the City Annex to review the changes made and hold further discussion.
