Rural Meter Reading
Rural accounts are only read every two months, although the customers receive monthly bills. The month with no reading is estimated, based on a 12 month running average of the customers usage history. Water meters for the rural areas are read on on around the last week of every other month. Typically, it takes five days to read all the meters in the rural areas. Although we try to read each meter on the same day each month, if the typical day falls on a weekend or a holiday, the reading date may be adjusted accordingly.
Bill Due Date
Bills are printed and mailed at the end of each month and are due the 10th of the following month. Late charges are applied on the 11th of each month if no payment is received. If any due date falls on a holiday or weekend, it is extended to the next working day. Late notices are mailed one week after the bills are due and indicate the day water service will be cut off if payment is not received prior to that date.
