Minutes of the Regularly Scheduled Council Meeting
November 12, 2002
City Hall Annex Building, 186 Branham Way
6:30 p.m.
Ralph Lutes called the meeting to order at 6:36 p.m. with the following members
present: Barry Armstrong, Sam Beichler, Sid Griffin, Ralph Lutes, Frank Sullivan
and Brent Wheeler. Mayor Ed Hilbert was absent.
The City Clerk, City Utility Superintendent, City Engineer and City Attorney
were also present.
The invocation was given by Mark Wilson of Mt. Washington United Methodist
Church.
Sid Griffin made a motion to accept the minutes of the October 28, 2002 meeting
as read. Frank Sullivan seconded the motion. Motion passed. (Unan.)
Students from Bullitt East's Political Science Class were in attendance and were
recognized.
Shane Ulery, of 466 Evans Lane, addressed the Council in regard to yard repairs
that need to be made to his property. Ronnie Fick, Utility Superintendent,
stated he had a list of yard repairs to complete and he would get to Mr. Ulery's
property as soon as he could.
Frank Sullivan made a motion to hold the annual long term planning session on
November 26th at the City's Annex Building and invite the newly elected Council
members as well as last years guests from Economic Development. Brent Wheeler
seconded the motion. Motion passed. (Unan.)
Barry Armstrong made a motion to enter into executive session at 7:16 p.m. in
accordance with KRS:61.810 to discuss property acquisition and would also like
to invite the newly elected Council members Joetta Calhoun, Lloyd Dooley, and
Larry Porter into executive session. Frank Sullivan seconded the motion. Motion
passed. (Unan.)
Frank Sullivan made a motion to reconvene open session at 8:30 p.m. Sid Griffin
seconded the motion. Motion passed. (Unan.)
Joe Wantland stated that there was discussion on land acquisition and Dave
Derrick, City Engineer, was given instructions.
No action was taken as a result of executive session.
There being no further business before the Council, Brent Wheeler made a motion
to adjourn the meeting. Sam Beichler seconded the motion. Motion passed. (Unan.)
The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
