Minutes of the Regularly Scheduled Council Meeting
October 8, 2001
City Hall Annex Building, 186 Branham Way
6:30 p.m.
Mayor Ed Hilbert called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. with the following
members present: Sam Beichler, Sid Griffin, Ralph Lutes, Frank Sullivan, and
Brent Wheeler. Barry Armstrong arrived at 6:38 p.m.
The City Attorney, City Engineer, Utility Superintendent, and Office
Administrative Assistant were also present.
The invocation was given by Marty Deacon.
Sid Griffin made a motion to approve the September 24, 2001 meeting minutes as
read. Ralph Lutes seconded the motion. Motion passed. (Unan.)
The second reading was conducted on Ordinance 01-20. An Ordinance levying
advalorum Taxes and providing assessment equalization and collection. The
proposed 2001 real property tax rate is $.147 cents on each $100 of value and
$.149 cents on each $100 of value of all personal property taxable. Discussion
centered on whether the increase was a 4% increase. Brent Wheeler made a motion
to table this vote to the next meeting. Barry Armstrong seconded the motion.

The second reading was conducted on Ordinance 2001-21. An Ordinance proposing
the annexation of 5.79 acres known as the Bradley and Sharon Moore property
purchased by Dogwood Homes of Bullitt Co. This property adjoins the current
Bethel Branch Subdivision that is in the City limits. Ralph Lutes made a motion
to approve Ordinance 2001-21. Sid Griffin seconded the motion. Motion passed. (Unan.)
The first reading was conducted on Ordinance 2001-22 confirming annexation for
4.0 acres known as the Thompson Cabinet Property owned by Mr. Jack H. McIntosh.
Barry Armstrong made a motion to enter into executive session at 7:04 p.m. to
discuss personnel and property. Ralph Lutes seconded the motion. Motion passed.

Barry Armstrong made a motion to reconvene open session at 7:48 p.m. Brent
Wheeler seconded the motion. Motion passed. (Unan.)
Mayor Hilbert announced that two new Police Officers were hired.
There being no further business before the Council, Sid Griffin made a motion to
adjourn the meeting. Ralph Lutes seconded the motion. Motion passed. (Unan.)
